Dear Lexington District One Parents and Guardians:
Beginning Monday, April 19, Lexington District One will begin removing the plexiglass from our classrooms. The removal process should take a few weeks, as our maintenance crews work their way from school to school.
In Fall 2020, we installed plexiglass in our classrooms to lower the number of quarantines due to close contacts. Because of the current low numbers of positive cases throughout our district, we believe there is benefit to removing the plexiglass.
We will continue to wear our masks and practice physical distancing as much as possible. These safety practices help keep our staff and students healthy.
At this time, we feel it is safe to begin to remove the plexiglass. However, if our schools see a steep increase in positive cases and/or quarantines following spring break, we may be forced to keep the plexiglass in place longer.
We ask you to help us by not letting down your guard over spring break. Continue to take safety precautions such as masking and physical distancing.
We must all work together to stay safe and healthy as we begin the final stretch of this school year.
Dr. Greg Little, Superintendent
